American Collegiate Society of Adapted Athletics (ACSAA) was started in 2009 by Rob Egan, a 14-yr old who saw the need for young adults with disabilities to have a chance to play adapted sports. Since Rob has cerebral palsy himself, he understood the need firsthand. While many programs exist for children and teenagers with disabilities, the opportunities diminish once a person graduates from high school.  Because of this, the ACSAA was created.

Ever since its formation in 2009, Rob and the board have been refining the mission of the ACSAA in order to best fill a need.  Larry Markle from Ball State, a college well known for adapted athletics, shared that while collegiate adaptive sports programs do exist, there is a need for a database where teams can connect and form events as well as an organization that will arrange or sponsor tournaments.  Below you will find a list of colleges that offer adapted sports.
